WWII and little ones surgery
I know you are probably thinking, "What on earth do these two topics have in common?"Well, they don't unless you are in the middle of reading a series on pre-WWII Europe and England. Before my son's surgery to remove his adenoids I was reading a particularly difficult portion of this book on how children of political prisoners were not allowed to leave any areas of the Reich so that they could be used to make parents tell what they knew.As I pondered the idea of having to betray people to protect my child from harm I just knew I would never be able to do it.So, here is where the surgery came in. My son had a simple adenoidectomy. When he awoke in the recovery room he was just in tears from the pain in his throat. I did everything I possibly could to help ease the pain before they were able to give him some pain meds. I just could not stand to see him so upset. I knew it was minor pain but I just wanted it to stop.Back to pre-WWII Europe and England and what the Jewish people had to endure and what the children had to endure and I see evil. Just pure evil and wonder if this generation of people would speak out against such atrocities if they were to occur in this day and age.My son came through the surgery quite well. He is pretty much back to himself. I praise God for that. He is my source of strength and my only hope if the world ever goes mad again like it did in WWII.
