Living her dream. Mounted Horse Performance

J has loved horses from before the day she could say "Horsey!". She has always wanted to ride. But, every little girl wants a pony so we watched to see where her passion would take her. Last year she had the opportunity to take riding lessons. The instructor informed me that she only took students who truly loved horses so we sent J to horse camp for a week. At the end of the week her instuctor assured me that J had a true passion for horses and her lessons began. She has now been riding for just over a year and yesterday we got to watch her first "Mounted Horse" performamance.
Here she is with "her" horse Poca short for Pocahontas.

They began the performance all lined up.

She was chosen to be one of two leaders and here you can see how seriously she took this.

They circled the arena and then in unison turned and came toward us.

Toward the end of the performance they did a "Wagon Wheel". They had 2 horses in the center circling each other while 2 others formed a larger circle whild trotting around the 2 inner horses and then 2 others made the outer circle while galloping around the 2 inner circles. It was wonderful!!! They learned all of this in a day and a half.

After the performance they each introduced themselves and their horses and told a little about them. J's horse is and Arabian with Paint coloring.

I was really surprised at how emotional I was watching her in the performance. My baby girl is living a dream she has had for a long time and she looked so natural on that horse. J is not known for her serious nature but you could see how important this was to her as she lead her team. We are so thankful that the Lord has blessed her with this opportunity and has provided us with what we need to make this dream come true for her.
