Traditions

Growing up we would always dye boiled eggs for hunting on Easter. These days we don't hunt boiled eggs. But, we still love dying them.
R carfully considers the colors he is going to use.

C being, well, C!

Egg dying is serious business and takes some discussion.

A is my very meticulous one. Can you see how careful she is?

The finished product!

So, you ask. "What do you do with all those boiled eggs?" Well, they will become deviled eggs for our luncheon tomorrow. We cannot let them go to waste and we had to dye eggs!
Why do we not hunt boiled eggs anymore? Well, because of salmonella and other dangers. Funny we never got sick eating these hunted boiled eggs when we were kids. So instead of boiled eggs what do we do? Well, load them up with sugar of course! LOL!

Where was Mom during all of this? Well, Dad, this one's for you!
Praying everyone enjoys the celebration of our Lord's Resurrection tomorrow!

We were going to do this, and do dying the old fashioned way with boiled onion skins, etc. But my dc still didn't have their paragraphs of the week finished, even though I cut school down to only a couple of days of math and the rest TOG. Oh well. They did get a day at Sea World and lots of lunches out while we did errands. I figure the most important thing is that we talked about the detaiis of Jesus's final week on earth. Even though my dc know a lot, some of this was new. And we watched the Jesus film Fri night.
Blessings,
Laurie

Laurie,
I had all kinds of plans for bible readings, activities to go with the readings etc. But, life happens! We did keep the focus on Jesus and next year I hope to have Arnole Ytreeide's book to really lead us up to the Resurrection.
Sounds like you all had a great week even if your plans did not work out exactly as you planned!
